Looking after yourself
Looking after your own needs is so important when you have caring responsibilities. It's all too easy to become exhausted and burnt out with everything you're juggling. Here is some guidance on how to look after yourself so that you can be stronger and more resilient for those you look after.

It’s a great idea to register as a carer with your GP. Ask at the surgery for one of our Carer Registration forms. Simply fill in the form and hand it to the receptionist, and you will be recorded as a carer on your notes.

If your doctor knows you are a carer, they can ask you about any physical or mental health issues you may have because of caring. And the practice can try to be more flexible in terms of finding you appointments, etc.

Talking to other carers helps you to feel less alone and our peer support groups are all very welcoming and friendly. Please see the Events page to find a local group to you.

We have regular complementary therapy sessions in Northwich and Chester, if you would like to go on the waiting list for an appointment please contact us.
