Carer Breaks

Meeting up with other carers and being able to chat about normal everyday stuff was the best thing I've done for myself!

It's important to take a break.

As a carer you may be able to cope well for most of the time, but sometimes you need some time off to recharge your batteries or to deal with other aspects of your life.

You may need a break from caring:

  • to go out in the evening or at weekends.

  • to have time to yourself… just to have a bath… relax… read a book.

  • when you’re feeling tired or ill.

  • to keep up with your job.

  • when you’d like to see family or friends on your own.

  • in an emergency – unexpected illness or commitments elsewhere.

A break away from the usual routine of caring may be for a few hours or perhaps a few days; it may be needed regularly or just occasionally.

Time for Me Activities October 2025

We have lots of events and activities to give you a few hours of 'me time'. Changing your daily routine and your surroundings, even for a short time helps you to step back and take a breath. Helping yourself, helps you to keep on caring.

All our breaks are funded, so no cost to yourself, and unless otherwise stated just for Carers. Booking is essential, and please ensure that if you book onto an event and can no longer attend, you notify us at your earliest convenience. Due to high demand, if you do not notify us of a cancellation on more than one occasion, this may affect your bookings for further events.

To book, please contact breaks@cheshireandwarringtoncarers.org or call 0300 102 0008
